I am a true size 8 but did need to return the 38’s for the size 39. But once I put them on in the correct size I didn’t want to take them off. They are made well, look beautiful, dressed up without trying. I can walk in them all day and that is saying something from me. The leather is beautiful as well. I can’t wait to try another style soon! So glad I found Labucq!!!!

I'm not sure if they would have broken in over time and gotten better, but at the price I didn't want to keep them with an issue like that. Aside from that, I loved the look of them from the side, top, and back. The quality is really incredible, it feels like they would last forever if you took care of them. Really bummed they didn't work out for me!

I absolutely loved this boot, but was so sad to find that it didn't fit! The opening at the calf didn't have the elastic part to allow the boot a little stretch which was disappointing since l'd seen ads for how these shoes were made to compliment people with wider calves. I wasn't able to zip it up all the way and unfortunately ended up returning them, but I'm holding out hope that they’ll one day make an adjustment to the design!

I had been eyeing these boots for months, thinking they might meet my needs: 1) sharp & stylish, 2) sturdy & well made, and 3) versatile. The Joan boot more than delivered. When I first got them, they were quite snug and I emailed with customer service to make sure I had the right size. I ended up buying thinner, taller socks and wore them daily for a week or so — after that break in period the boots are MUCH more comfortable. They are great with casual, dressy, and professional outfits. So so good. LOVE. This is minor but they also make a delightfully satisfying clicking sound when you walk, makes me feel like a badass. Thank you Labucq for these gorgeous shoes. I can tell I will have them for years and years to come. Next up — summer sandals…

When I first tried these on it did take some effort to get my heel in, even with the zipper detail (I seem to have that issue with other boots as well, so maybe it's just my foot shape). However, I've put them on multiple times and it's definitely getting easier. They are comfortable to walk in and look great. I have the black and would love the Emerald color if they get restocked. I LOVE them!

My only complaint is that the edge of the sole is already wearing away which is disappointing considering the price and that they were purchased just over a month ago. But I’ll get that handled with my cobbler and they will recover. Would not be opposed to getting these in black as they are wide enough and very comfortable. We’ll see how they hold up over a year of use and then another purchase can be made if they are still in good condition.

I have wide feet and bunions and they still fit me! My only complaint would be the width of the top of them….a little tight. Plus the leather is so substantial it’s a bit rough on your leg. I’m remedying that by leaving them a bit unzipped and folding my sock over the top until they stretch a bit. Worth it!

I don't think I have large calves. Strange they they wouldn't have tested this or just made them like .5 inches wider a the top. Dissapointed because they are sooo nice otherwise.

When I wore them out for the first time they were incredibly comfortable. However; I returned home with gashes on both lower calves that a week later are still healing. My first time wearing half calf boots. I didn’t know the top of the boot would be a problem. I wore them with tights that night and still got my skin broken. Looking for half calf socks now so that I can hopefully get lots of wear out of these beautiful boots. The ordering and delivery process were great again. My second purchase with them.

I was excited when they arrived and I LOVED the boot and the foot part fit perfectly and they were so comfortable! Unfortunately the calf portion of the boot is very narrow and would not zip the last inch. For the price, couldn't keep if I couldn't zip all the way.

The difference is that these are much tighter around the ankle, while I sized up a half size on the tall pair for a more slouchy look. Both are amazing and so different, it's worth getting both. As for these, the color is almost a pale yellow-green that is surprisingly neutral and I am wearing them non-stop. Even though my feet are small (size 6), they are a bit wide so I generally size up when I get boots. I got the 37 and because the toe length isn't super long like some square-toed styles, they look perfect. Also, these are comfortable to walk in because of the chunkier heel and partial rubber on the sole. I love Labuq and own several styles of shoes. Please keep going! Final note: I had to make an exchange on these and it was super easy, much appreciated.

I'm not someone who ever wears heels but I felt great wearing these for nearly a full day immediately after purchasing. They can rub a little bit on your heel, so I've been wearing them with socks that have heel padding built in. I got these in Python and have gotten so many compliments already. Buy them!!

This is my third attempt to own a pair of Labucqs. I tried the Mika Loafer and the George Loafer - I could NOT get them on my foot. I have a super high, bony arch (and, lately, not as much mobility in my big toe), and sizing up didn't help. Undeterred, I ordered these gorgeous green Joan boots in a 40 (my usual size is 39.5) and HALLELUJAH - while getting them on isn't a total piece of cake, it's completely doable, and once on, they are SO COMFORTABLE and so gorgeous - I paraded around the office today to many oohs and aahs. I'm over the moon to finally have a pair of Labucqs and I will continue to search for more!

The Kitty loafer was exactly what I’d hoped in colour, fit and quality. Beautifully made, nice leather and comfortable to wear immediately. Wanted to also buy the Joan boots but was going to Paris in Sept so held off. Saw nothing comparable, so came home and ordered them! Exactly as represented and also fit perfectly. I hope to have both of these pairs of shoes for a few seasons to justify the investment. Wearing both a lot!

I love them so much, I bought a second pair in the faux python for something "extra".

They're also extremely comfortable with a very supportive heel. I live in NYC and walk everywhere so comfort is essential for my shoes. I have worn them all day to the office and out after work and not had any issues with foot pain even after a long day. The fit on the leg is perfect (not too tight) and actually worked for my 66 year old mother who borrowed them for a day and was nervous they might be too tight on her ankle. But they weren't! I bought my regular size and had no issues with the length and space in the toe box. All in all, I give these boots a 10/10!

I have slightly wide feet so prob could have benefit from going up another size up to wear thicker socks. For reference I’m normally a size 8.5 and got size 39. But overall very comfortable and goes with everything.

I am so impressed with the quality and workmanship of these boots and shoes that I can't resist buying more! They are solid and well built and the heel height is so darn functional. I can wear them all day long while on my feet and the square toe box makes them forgiving on my wide forefoot. I consistently receive numerous compliments no matter which pair I am wearing :)

The leather and construction are high quality, as you’d expect from Italian handcrafted expensive shoes. But what I love the most is the timeless style. I wish the sole had more interior cushion, but I fix it with an insert. I also love that the ankle opening isn’t too wide.

I was so pleasantly surprised by how comfortable they are. I can wear them all over the city for an entire day without pain. The leather is so soft and beautiful. The only thing I would say is that if you have a thicker calf (which I do), you may need to break in the upper part a bit. I was not sure which size to order as I am a true size 8 with a slightly wider foot; I went with the 39 and they fit me perfectly. Overall, I love them, they are one of my favorite pairs of shoes.

The shape of the toe and the height of the heel make the foot incredibly comfortable. However….the shaft is super narrow. I am a clothing size 16-18, for reference, and don’t usually buy wide-shaft or wide width boots, and I could never zip these more than a little bit. I kept them hoping the leather would stretch out, but after months and months of trying, it’s no better. It’s tragic! I can’t wear them except with the longest of jeans to cover the gap. When I first got them, during the second month, the platform was starting to separate so I messaged LABUCQ for help and they responded very quickly - they had me take them to their recommended cobbler (which, was very close by) and paid for the repair cost. I debated buying these for a few months, then finally caved because they looked adorable. Some factors to note: they run a bit narrow across the foot and fit snugly (too snug for me) around the calf and ankle. I imagine with some time to break them in, they'd be a bit more comfortable around the foot, but the shaft of the boot was digging in to my leg, unfortunately. The leather was not as soft as I'd hoped, which led me to a bit of disappointment considering the price point for these shoes. That said, the height of the heal and the feel of the footbed were comfortable and the square toe gives it a fun edge. The boots have a nice silhouette that could be paired with pretty much anything, hence my sadness that they did not fit as desired. Now, for my experience with Labucq. After some issues tracking my shipment, It took me a while (days) to get a hold of customer service. A wild goose chase ensued as I tried to call and email, but to no avail until I eventually got an email response from a helpful Labucq customer service rep and they were able to help me track down my package. TL;dr, the boots were not the right fit for me and I wish the leather felt nicer to match the purported quality of the shoes. It took a while to track down my package and the customer service team, but both were reached at some point.

I thought the two-inch heel would be too high to walk in comfortably in New York City, but that's not the case; right out of the box, the boots are no problem--light and supple and supportive. Fact is, I'm as comfortable as I am in my old running shoes, but I feel better about myself. I was worried that my wide feet and high arches wouldn't work, but the boots fit really well--no pinching or squeezing. Couldn't be more pleased! I'm usually a 7.5 and took the size 38 which fits me well with only a hair extra room. Width and toe box are super comfortable for my normal width feet. I've had no problem wearing these boots out for long evenings with train and walking commutes, and can hardly tell I'm walking on a good size heel. However, as these are the most expensive shoes I own, I am extra sensitive to the quality. After a couple of wears, the leather is very creased and the sole is peeling slightly at the toe. It is impossible to put your foot into the boot without creasing the leather, let alone walk! The tops of these boots are also very narrow. I am short (5,4) and can just squeeze the zip up. Overall, I am still pleased with the purchase and hope I can get many years of wear out of these!

And I have also been pleased by the roomy instep, which helps with my high arches. I look forward to wearing these quite a bit once the weather gets a bit cooler.
