The circumference at the top of the shaft was way too wide for me (surprising because I have pretty muscular calves) when I walked would slap the back of my legs with each step. Sadly, I have to return both pairs. Customer service was helpful and easy to navigate. Hopefully, we’ll find something that works for me in the future.

However beautiful the boots are, the proportion of the boots to my body is as not the greatest look or feel. My legs are very slender, so I would recommend my slim calf sisters find a similar boot with a more narrow calf circumference. So, nothing wrong with the design or quality, but I'll be sticking with my Joan short and looking for tall boots elsewhere :'(

I can wear them about as as long as any other 'night out' pump or platform, but that's about it - not all day or all night. I find them quite painful and stiff in the footbed area.

However, ladies with short legs beware (I’m 5’2), the boot was too long for me and dug into my knees. I couldn’t find an alternative, so I had them shortened for an additional $100. Labucq pleaseee consider a “short” version of your knee highs!

I have wanted a pair of Labucqs for a while and the Joan in Ivory was exactly what I was looking for. When they arrived I was so bummed. They are in NO WAY Ivory, but rather a buttercream yellow. I showed my fiancé and best friend who both agreed with me. I sent pictures in to the customer service email showing the problem and requesting that I not be charged the restocking fee. Their response completely ignored the color discrepancy, and I was told that the company would not waive the restocking fee as “it is standard for all returns”. I responded again with my frustration at that, and they never replied. For a company that boasts of quality of their goods, I was shocked. It was truly false advertising of the product and they took zero responsibility for it.

They’re so comfortable, stylish, and most importantly I can feel the high quality of the leather and construction. I go between a 38 and 39 usually and have a pretty narrow foot and calf so I opted for the 38 and just wear them with tights or a thin sock. If you are a chunky sock person and are in between two sizes I would suggest sizing up.

The python is a statement, but the color is so perfect it compliments way more clothing than I expected. Also, the height of the shaft makes it the most flattering knee-high boot I’ve ever tried on. The leather is so beautiful and simple. With no hardware you really appreciate the lines of the boot. I own other Boomer Labucq sandles. They are beyond comfortable. I was hoping the same would be true with the Joan boot. Pleasant surprise, you can walk miles in these too.

Have them now for all most 2 years. Love them so much I bought the black. The new colors this season look amazing!! May need more?!!!! I wear these all day . So comfortable and well made. If you have larger calves, definitely purchase one size up from your usual size for them to fit as widely as they do on the model. Even during a Black Friday sale, I was able to exchange mine from 39 to 40 with no problem and they still fit well on my feet!

Walking on the 2" block heel is easy on the ankles and I can wear them all day in the city. They also work well when traveling through security since they are easy to take off (there are elastic loops on the inside of the boots that help with that). I am 5' 3" and they come up to just under my kneecap. I'm in between 35.5 and 36 and the 36 fit perfectly with socks.

However, they hurt to walk in for long periods of time because I think they don't allow my legs to bend normally. It leaves a pain in my hips by the end of the day. Four stars because it's a great shoe if driving is your standard mode of transpo, as is mine. It's off season tho and I can't recall if this issue improved as they were broken in...

I took them on a weekend trip the day they arrived and they fit comfortably the whole time. The boots fit true to size, the leather is super soft, and they are really easy to walk around the city in. I cannot recommend them enough!

Mine is 15" and this boot fits like a dream and is very comfortable. No zippers, no stretchy fabric mix, just good old pull on leather. Love it. Can't wait to try the sandals!

Been eyeing the Joan High in Caramel Python since they came out. Too pricey for me, but still, obsessed! When they went on sale, I was like, ok, go! I am an 8 to an 8.5, so I went with a 39 per the suggestion online and added an insole. My toes hinge up and a tight toe roof can be uncomfortable. This leather is very giving for this issue. My office mates are all over the board on whether these boots "look" the price (I mean, we tell each other stuff!). But lemme tell you, after a lukewarm response from me, I now love them. This boot is designed to be so comfortable and balanced on the foot - I could wear them all day right out of the box. There is slight slippage in the heel even with the insole, but it is not a problem for me & makes them more comfortable. The pull up tabs inside the shaft seem reinforced and made to last. They are incredibly easy to take off and on, even without zippers or elastic designed portions. They are strangely basic in terms of what you can wear them with, I think it is the tones. I will say the printed leather has a slight "nap" - I'm not sure if it is to mimic snake skin or some other reason. This makes the boot a tad bit "sticky" for really delicate fabrics. I tend to have dresses and skirts that are midi, so I noticed. These boots are spectacular with above the knee clothing (like pictured on the website). I am interested to see how the leather holds up - because of the "nap". But in terms of comfort they are phenomenal for a non-combat boot. Just the right combo of chic, on-trend, retro, and practical.

I've been searching for knee high boots forever and these boots fit to perfection. I have a wider front foot, and I'm a 371/2, so I went for the size 38. They are the most comfortable boots. The heel is not too tall, so you can walk around in them all day without your feet aching. Easily can dress it from day to night! Love these!
