Labucq needs better quality control BB |
I'm disappointed by my experience at this price point. One boot arrived with a noticeable discoloration in the leather. If Labucq is going to charge nearly $700 for a pair of boots, they should ensure their product is top quality and ready to wear right out of the box. The sizing is also quite odd. I ordered a size 37 (my usual size in most brands) and the heel was very loose while the rest of the boot was narrow. I exchanged them for a smaller size and am waiting to receive the new pair. If the new pair doesn't work out, I'm going to return them and avoid this company going forward. Between the quality issues, sizing, etc it's been a drawn out time consuming purchasing process. | |

I happened upon Labucq at a pop up store on Elizabeth street about 5 years ago. I bought the loafer in black.. They became my every day shoe. Then I bought the Joan boot, my absolute go to boot, love them so much. I recently purchased the Mara boot in black, I haven’t stopped wearing them. They are comfortable, chic, go with everything and fit perfectly. | |

It was a bit of a pill to swallow the pricetag but I'm glad I did. These boots are so much nicer in person than online. The color is a rich cordovan brown and they look both classy and casual at once, a hard formula! The stretchy top portion makes the fit comfy and flattering. My only "complaint" is that the zipper is initially quite stiff to pull up. I think this will give with wear, however. | |

I bought both the brown and black Mara booties last season and wore them everyday. Now fall weather has settled in and I have put them on again and I love them just as much. The zipper does get easier to zip over time in answer to some of the comments posted in earlier reviews. I look forward to another season, and more of wearing these boots. They still look new as I pull them out again this season, which is a testament to the fine craftsmanship they enjoy. | |

After a year of eyeing and saving for my first Labucq purchase, I half-hoped for a reason to not love them. No such luck. I am smitten. Beyond their beautiful cocoa color, sharp stitching and elegant lines, these boots feel like perfection. The heel and toe are sturdy but not stiff. The shaft is super soft & snug but not tight. They walk and wear well and I feel lovely in them. I am delighted. | |

Beautiful, surprising design. Fit is a bit long and a bit narrow compared to other styles from Labucq. (I have 3). My heel comes up in one but I can’t wear thicker socks because of the narrowness. So just gotta dial it in sock-wise and stick to the one that works. They are so light! My favorite thing about Labucq across styles is the combo of quality and light-weight materials. I wondered if these would be a little tricky to style but they go with almost everything I’m wearing - wide leg, cropped, flared ankle, surplus workwear. Also I wondered if they’d be a little too “moto” hard looking and they actually look a bit classier and fine when styled and worn. | |

Boots are light-weight and comfortable to walk in. Slightly narrow on my feet, especially since I also had to add an insole to adjust the length for my half size, which worked well otherwise. Looks great peeking out from under long pants. Adds quirk and edge, while still looking like grown up boots that aren’t too trendy. | |

I usually take a size 38 in Labucq (I'm normally a 7.5 with a high instep) but it turns out I needed a 37 in this boot. The zipper is "sticky" at first but then gets easier and the boot is soft and needed very little time to break in. Gives you a nice little lift too and is not too chunky and still feels fashion forward. | |

The zipper pull broke instantly as I tried the boot on for the first time. Upon inspection the entire zipper hardware seemed poor quality and not sturdy enough for the boots. It’s a shame because I liked the overall design of the boots. The return process was fairly easy and I was assured that I would be refunded the shipping cost which normally they don’t for returns. This was my first order from Lubucq so not the best first impression. However I do like a lot of the shoes I see on their website so I may try ordering again after my full refund goes through. | |

I love these so much I bought both colors! Butter soft right out of the box with amazing comfort, and beautiful as well. Very comfortable from the get go and beautiful. It has all the qualities I liked in my old boots but just a little more of everything : the lighter weight, zippered well fitted top, slightly angled toe box to lengthen my shirt legs. The boots appear hefty but are super light and fits my ankle well. The zipper is heavy duty. Some cons : the zipper is a bit difficult to zip initially but seemed to get a little easier with use (have only had it a day so time will tell). There is a little pressure at the upper Achilles area and I’m hoping it will not cause chafing as the leather gets softer with use - but for a product fresh out of the box - I’m not disappointed. |
