The Subas were super comfy immediately out of the box. They required zero breaking in and fit probably best, immediately, of all my pairs so far (Mika loafers, studded clogs, Boomer sandals). I had a couple Qs as I ordered and as always the Labucq team responded quickly and helpfully. Shipping was super fast. And as always I get tons of compliments. I’ll be back!!

At first I was worried they were too big still and yet too tight around the top of my arch. But after wearing them a few times they have loosened just a bit and my foot sits in the boot perfectly now. I love the height. I never wear heels but these just elevate me just enough for all my pant legs to look so excellent. The reason I bought them was for the Vibram sole though, honestly. It’s very rare to find a boot that’s durable and made of materials that will hold up AND look fashionable.

They really are beautiful, but the fit is way off and, in my case, differed from shoe to shoe. When I first bought them I struggled to pull them on, trusting they would stretch out. After a couple wears, they stretched out quite a bit - to the point where I needed to put inserts in them. My main concern is that one boot is much larger and poorer quality than the other. Everyone has different sized feet, but this is to the point where I got INSANE blisters from one shoe and strained a muscle trying to physically accommodate the fact that one foot was swimming in a boot while the other was secure. I tried contacting customer service twice to see if they may have any quick fixes or advice that would allow me to continue wearing these boots comfortably, but they never responded. These boots are really not worth the money - maybe try one of their other styles. Five stars because the site wouldn't let me submit otherwise. Love that transparency :) Real review: 2/5

Love the shaft height, platform, the shape of the elastics, the pull tabs front and back. The shoe is surprisingly light and bouncy - as comfortable as docs but wayyy less heavy. I’m a size 9/39 and these fit true to size. The cream color is true to photos and perfect - I’m not an optic white person. I ended up forgetting to use my intro offer discount for these but happened to mention it when a customer service person checked in with me and they applied a credit to my order no questions. The whole experience was awesome. Looking forward to my next pair….

After reading SUBA Chelsea's profile, I ordered a pair. We hit it off right away so I was introduced to rest of the Labucq family. The rest is history. I'm a size 43 with Labucq. Other brands I'm a 42. I'm okay with that! ALL of the boots, shoes, sandals and clogs that I own of Labucq have ALL been super stylish and excellent in quality. I haven't returned many items but on the occasion that I do the process is very streamlined.

They have just enough 'chunk' to feel a bit edgy, and yet are surprisingly lightweight and streamlined by design. Boots, for me, are a must--must be attractive and definitely must be comfortable--and these boots do not disappoint. They do become even more supple and comfortable as you wear them, easy to get on and off, easy to forget you're even wearing boots with a lug sole. I'd run the gamut of ankle boots at every price point before discovering Labucq and the Suba Chelsea. Ordering was seamlessly easy, even with the added complication of ordering the wrong size (a typo) and then exchanging my usual size (40/10/10.5) for the 41 to get the best possible fit. Customer service was completely unfazed by my errors and special requests (including expedited shipment of the larger size so I could take them with me on vacation--even before they'd received the pair I'd returned! WOWZA). And yes, I'm now on the waitlist for the size 41 to be restocked so I can purchase another pair. YEARS of enjoyment and abuse (rain, mud, snow, hot asphalt) and they're still going. Just want to ensure that I have a second pair to wear in these unpredictable and crazy times... I have average-width, long, flat feet with narrow ankles (impossible!) and these are slipper-comfy.

These are beautiful boots but unfortunately I had to return them because the stiffness in the leather was not comfortable for me. I have a geothermal would soften over time, but for the price I didn’t want to wear without total comfort. I was sad to let them go because I love the look and quality and who knows, maybe I will order them again!

A little background - I've wide, flat, feet that suffers from plantar fasciitis and tendonitis. I refuse to sacrifice style for comfort and, with the Suba I don't have to. The boots are extremely well-made with all the details of a luxury house brand - welting higher up, reinforced pull tabs. They remind me of a former Celine boot at half the cost. The Vibram sole is sturdy and provides great traction. They took five minutes to break in and mold into my foot. The boot is versatile and fits well with my casual clothes as well as my dressier options. I plan on buying the tan colour as well. One thing that could be considered is including an additional insole with each boot.

They still look brand new and the lug some is still looking perfect. The material, leather and rubber some are outstanding. Unfortunately this boot was too snug overall. I have a wide foot and a high instep. I love the look so much and in person they were even more beautiful. I could have worn the boots in the house and stretched them to fit. The real reason they wouldn’t work is because they were too tight on my athletic leg. Not attractive on my leg.

Got them to wear in the winter, but “breaking them in” prior. Basically that means anytime I want to spice up an outfit, I put these on. People weren’t kidding, there really is no break-in time. They are comfortable as hell. The first time I wore them I did get some blisters on my heels, but that’s because I was just wearing tights and they are a tad long for me (I’m an 8.5/9 in most shoes and got the 39). Once I started wearing thicker socks, problem solved. Looking forward to applying a leather water repellant before I take these out in the winter!

I am a US 6.5 and the 37 was a perfect fit. As someone who lives in New England, it's tough to find a boot that is stylish but won't make you slip and fall on the ice! These boots were incredibly comfortable on the first wear and they've only gotten more comfortable over time. The quality of them is amazing and I truly see them being a timeless, quality shoe that I wear for many years to come. I'm already planning to purchase them in another color! Quality shoes are truly something that are worth the investment, especially if you're like me and on your feet all day. I normally wear a US size 6.5 in boots and I got a 37, and they fit perfectly! Still roomy, but not loose, in the toe area with wool socks on. These are so comfortable and so easy to slip on and off! I love how they’re versatile while still being edgy with just the right amount of chunkiness. Also, their customer service is amazing and they answered my questions about waterproofing products within 24 hours!

I could tell that ordering down a size would mean a too-short length. Visually the size 39 looked enormous on my US size 8.5M feet. I thought I might find a sharp-looking replacement for my Blundstones, but these weren't it. The return was quick and painless, so thank you for that!

I can throw them on with my regular rotation of leggings and jeans and look put together. They are super easy to get in and off - which is a big plus to me- they aren’t stiff and the rubber sole makes them almost squishy. Coming from someone with bunions and neuromas, the fact that I could wear them comfortably right out of the box was amazing!

Stacy Robinson	As a native of New England in the US, I wasn’t sure what to expect for a winter boot but these are rain, snow and sleet stellar! I have a second residence in Washington DC and had the boots shipped to this location and they arrived the day before our first snow so the timing was superb. I am an avid street strider and walked over 4 miles on this day and my feet felt cushioned and warm (I had on a thick pair of winter socks and am usually a 38-38.5 so I went with the 39. However, a 38 may have been fine but at least I can wear thick socks and there was no blistering or discomfort whatsoever. Labucq, as someone who has encountered some savage winters in my primary residence in NH, your boots are perfection. And as someone who loves to stomp around in high heels from DC to Europe (pre COVID-19), you have my next order! Thank you!

I’m going to have to wait for the next size to come in - it’s out of stock. Otherwise, I’d be living in them right now.

The quality is superb: soft leather and a truly functional Vibram sole which is a pleasure to walk on. Never going back to my old Blunnies, which were always too tight over my high arches. They are super comfortable. Fit wise, I’d say they are basically true to size, but be aware of the differences between European/ French size numbers and Italian. I often wear 39 in French sizing, but 40 in Italian, and I needed 40 in these and they are still not roomy. I’m glad I found this company!
